I've got a '01 ls170 equipped with high flow hydraulics. I'm really interested in a brushmonster 60 inch open front cutter. I've had lots of people say my machine can't handle it, but others say no problem. Brushmonster says it can handle it, but they really want a sale, so I need honest opinion! Weights and hydraulic flow seem to be within limits according to the companys specs, but will my machine HANDLE it?

i have a 60" bobcat brushcat in great shape for sale 3800 standard flow
I have carried a cutter that heavy (Ersskine 72" at 1450 lbs) on my LS160, same frame as yours and I can see why you are getting both opinions. It is a big load because it sticks so far out front. The best way would be if you can beg borrow rent a cutter of simular weight and see what You think while using it in your situation.
It will do it, mowing while driving down a 20% slope may require that you be prepared to let the cutter tough the ground to avoid tipping. You may find steel tracks help counterweight for may staybility and here I often need them to avoid being stuck anyway. The NH counterweight kit would also be a asset. I have both and its managable but a good load.
Hope that helps.

Thanks for the replies! I have just ordered a brand new 60 inch brushcutter, will be here next week. I went with the 60 inch to save the weight and hydraulic power, seeing as this will be a homeowner use! Once it arrives and I get to use it a little, I will post the results along with company contact. Wish me luck!
