I was recently reading a post here about float position, sure enough my 763 has this option, but as with everything on this beast, it's not working as advertised, it will go into float mode, but will not stay , and I have to keep pressure on the foot pedal, From what I read, the pedal should stay in the float position, is this an easy fix? and where should I look, I have the complete manual, but need a small hint as to where to look Thanks Mini

In the service manual hydraulic section look for lift spool detent. The detent is several balls that lock into a groove and you may just need to keep working the pedal a few times to get it working if its been a long time since its been used. From what I've read from other members posts removing and replacing the balls can be a hair pulling job with the control valve in the machine.

Update: After several tries, going into and out of Float Mode, the pedal will sometimes stick as it should, I am sure it was not used very often, I still would like to know where this detent is located, as I am sure it most likely could be repaired, or in need of some grease?

It is a cap on the back of one of the spools in the the control valve assembly (bottom one I believe), held by a c clip.

Thanks Guys It does appear to be now holding in float mode most of the time now, as I have pushed it several times today, I really like this float mode, it sure will help with grading our long gravel driveway, that I chewed up, learning to operate this thing. Mini

They are cheap to fix and not hard to figure out, just a major PITA to get the new detent balls back in there. Parts are about $5. Be sure to buy extra little balls as you will launch them everywhere on each unsucessful attempt.
Seen as your is working leave it alone or maybe try some spray lube inside the cap without removing it enough to let the balls escape.
