I just bought a used 99' 751 f series with 400 hrs on it. When i was test driving it, and turned the key off, then engine shut down slow (over 3-5 seconds or so). I thought it was some special shut down option. Now after picking it up and using it a bit more, when i turn the key off the engine shuts off immediately every time. Is this normal? Another question of mine......Why on the engine door does it have a maintenance schedule for a 753?

It sounds like the fuel shut down solenoid may have been a little sticky when it took a little while to stop. Key off and it should stop quite fast.
The maintenance is more or less generic, I'm assuming it has a Kubota? the older 751's used a Peugeot engine but the 753's use a Kubota so the 753 schedule would be the same as a 751 with a Kubota.

Thanks Tazza, that makes sense to me. The machine did sit for a while unused. It probably was sticky. Good to know that it isnt some fault in a "fictional" shut down system. My machine does have a kubota, so that is also good to know.

If its ok now, i'd leave it be. If it causes trouble i think you can remove the rubber boot and plunger and give it a clean.
