my 743 will not turn moves forward and backwards fine

Help Support SkidSteer Forum:

The only possible way that I know that this could be happening is if one side is freewheeling.
Does it move straight forward and backward with one stick only? If so, then the side or stick that won't move the machine is not driving. Then you have to figure out whether it's the pump or motor or both for that side.
I'm assuming you're on flat ground or pavement, unless I'm missing something here.
Good Luck.

Block it so the wheels are off the ground, see if they move. What sounds is it making?
Do your hydraulics still works? if not it could be a broken coupling between the pump and engine.
These machines are very simple, i'm sure we can work out whats wrong. Give as much detail as you can.

OK bobcat support told me that the drive motors needed rebuilt so i did and no help on blocks it works all directions but on the ground it hardly moves and clicks a lot ?

Clicks? can you be a little more specific on that?
As you have ruled out the motors, it has to be the pump.
Have i asked if you have a square block on the pump? if so there is a suction line filter in there that will cause problems like this.

This is a paragraph from one of Tazzas previous posts about the hidden filter
Ok, as you have the older style you have a hidden suction line filter. Left hand side, middle hose. Remove it and the fitting that screws in the port block. Behind there is a spring and bronze filter, you may need to remove it with pointy nose pliers. Watch the fitting doesn't fly out at you as there is a spring there. Replace or at least give the filter a good clean in kero or diesel and blow it down with air. That should fix your drive problem.

Exactly!
I found on my 731 that had this setup that it would drive in a straight line ok, but have no power to go up hills or turn on the spot. It would scream its head off when you try and turn or put it under load. My dealer didn't have a filter in stock so i used diesle and compressed air. Re-installed it and it was like new! heaps of power would turn on the spot effortlesly.
Its totally normal for your lift and tilt to have full power as these run off a seperate pump.
