Hey everyone,

Skidsteer is now available inside the Gather app, and we'd love a handful of members to help us test it.

Best part: you don't need to create a brand-new forum account. Just sign up / log in using the same email address you use on Skidsteer and it should link automatically.

Download Gather:
iPhone (iOS): https://gather.forum/ios
Android: https://gather.forum/android

What to test:
  • Install Gather and search for Skidsteer
  • Log in with your usual email
  • Browse a few threads, try a reply, maybe start a new post
  • Let us know what feels off (login, loading, posting, notifications, etc.)

Where to leave feedback:
Please reply to this thread with your notes. Even a couple bullets helps a ton. If you include your phone model + iOS/Android version, that's perfect.

One extra perk: inside Gather you can also create your own private groups (local cutting crew, equipment chat, firewood plans, etc.) if you want a space to talk without posting publicly.

Thanks for helping us make the mobile experience better.

On my older ipad, iOS 17.7.10. Have not tried on my newer iPad.
If I open a thread on the website and then later go to the app, the app still shows it as unread.

Got this. I'll report the feature to mark them as read. Thank you for testing. Let me know if you find other things that need to improve.

No issues, but don't like the black and white color scheme and couldn't find a way to change it. When looking at the general area, I could not tell read, from unread. After reading items in the unread area, and refreshing, they stayed and did not go away. Not sure if they were supposed to or not.

I'll take a look at the dark mode feature and see that can be improved.

Ok. Just an update. I only check the general page each day and don't go into the other forum pages. When I open the app, I see everything. All the forum posts, which is too much for me. Any way I can focus what I look for? Couldn't find a way...

Tap the "Gatherings" tab, tap on Skidsteer Forum. On the top, you will see "Topics" and "Forums" tap Forums and you will see the same forums as you see on the browser. Let me know when you find it.

I am not a fan of the app. I currently use Chrome on iOS to access the website version of the forum.
1. It automatically added another community I use on occasion, and yes, I could in-link/re-link that community when needed, but I like having them separate.
2. Spell check (underlined mid-spellings) did not work. May be a toggled option somewhere, but my fat-finger preference would be on as a default.
3. Photos inserted did not preview as full size - only a fixed size that cuts off the top and bottom. Maybe that fixes itself when actually posting, but I didn’t want to redo a post, so I quit there and went back to the website version.

Respectfully submitted,
