New to the Forum, I just inherited a ASV RC 100. Seems the right hand track is not being driven in forward. I positioned the machine on an incline with a loaded bucket, the left track will dig in and spin, nothing from the right track. Put up on jack stands, left track rotates, right track will rotate but at half the speed of the left. Steering is very awkward and seems the right track is not being driven. I can get the right track to spin when in reverse. Any suggestions on trouble shooting before I send the drive in for overhaul. Your help is appreciated.

I suggest that you look into your valve body that controls the drive motors. I recently purchased a PT110F that had low pressure on the lift arm hydraulics. Figured that the pump was bad. Took the pump out and apart and it all looked very good. Put it all back together and no change. I used the trouble shooter in the book or service manual and and a pressure guage (and another set of eyballs to read the guage) was able to pinpoint the problem to 1 single relief valve on that circuit. Not knowing what to do I removed this valve and cleaned it with carb cleaner and looked it over. I did not see anything stuck in it and it did not have a broken spring. I reassembled it and installed it and set the pressures according to the service manual and it worked perfectly. I tell you all this because I am not full of BS here. This took me a while. These valves are very sensitive to any kind of debris in them. A blown hydraulic line and then being replaced in such a dirty enviornment like skid steers and it would only take a small piece of anything to screw it up. It could be a huge co$t savings for you to check this first before you just drop $7500 to replace the drive. Please note that the drive could still be bad but I think there are ways to trouble shoot that as well after you determine that the control valve is functioning properly. I am not a mechanic but I can read and trouble shoot. You can do this. Let me know what you find out. These are great machines if you practice good maintenance.

Did some trouble shooting after talking to Hydraulic Tech. Blocked off drive motor hydraulic lines. Engine should die when trying to turn track. The tandem pump only whined. Tandem pump is shot. Sent out for estimate, unit was BER, had to purchase a remanufactured pump. Waiting for it now.

Are you happy with the reman unit? Where did you get it? I'm about to go through the same thing.

So far so good, I did an exchange with Loader Parts Source out of Elkhart Indiana. I think it was $4200 and fairly easy to deal with.

Thanks for replying. That sounds pretty expensive for a reman, but if it's working I guess it's worth it. I paid $1850 for a reman but fed ex lost it. I canceled it and bought a brand new one from vine and branch supply. I'm waiting for it to arrive. Fingers crossed .
