I'm sure most of you know i bought a slightly burnt 751 with a Peugeot engine. The fire wasn't really savage but it was enough to eat a lot of expensive parts. FULL wiring harness back to the dash, blower, blower housing, fuel tube and oil tank, there are other small parts too.
The engine was in un-known condition, it has 4,500 hours on the clock so i really wasn't sure if it was going to be any good. I went to start it up today, plugging off burnt breather pipes. I had a quick look at the injectors as the tap off lines were burnt and sure enough, there was rust down them. I spent about an hour pulling the injectors down, cleaning and re-installing.
After a few hours of fiddling, i hooked up a battery and i got it started, it runs smooth as! MUCH better than any Kubota i have ever run.... I was really leaning towards doing a Kubota conversion but the way it runs, i'm not so sure now.
When i get time, i will post piccies of the progress, i'm currently waiting on a manual so not a lot will be done for a little while yet. At least i know the engine is a runner, the wiring is really scaring me..... Everything else i know i can work out.

That is good news, I would like to run across something like that for a the right price. How did you find it? Sure there will be endless hours and some money involved but it sounds like in time this machine will work again.

Tazza, If anyone can figure it out I am sure it is you. My money is bet that you'll have it like new in no time. My congratulations for getting it started from over across the big pond here in Kingston Springs Tennessee.

I found it at auction, the burnt machines are "sold as scrap" so you can always pick them up cheap. They do cost a bit to get back to life though, the hard to get or specialized parts always go for big $$ from Bobcat. I have to hand it to them though, a machine thats over 20 years old and they still have all the required parts!
I hope you guys are rite, the BICS wiring looks a bit messy. I just need to get my parts manual and get a few prices.
I have been speaking to a guy down south with parts, i just need to work out prices with him so i can get moving with it all. He did have a few parts that i was going to need.

I have a 751-C with the Peugeot XUD9 engine with about 500 hrs on the clock now. I bought it from a hobby farmer who never used it and stored it in a barn. From my research on the engine it was used a lot in the 80's and 90's in Peugeot cars. Problem is we haven't had Peugeot car sales in the US for a few years. I have been to Oz a few times, but I can't remember seeing many Peugeots there. If so, you may find a lot of needed parts at auto parts stores. Another member on here mentioned a cross ref part for the glow plugs. If you do find a good source for engine parts, please share.

I have a list of 4 or 5 different manufactures for the glow plugs. If you want them just let me know.
The engine was in the 306, we got very few of these brought into Australia.
Nice website! i think it wouldn't hurt for me to harass them, its a shame they don't list prices but they do show Kubota re-build kits and they are nice and cheap!

If you have part numbers for glow plugs or any other aftermarket alternatives, please post them. I sent you an email a while back offering to scan the shop manual for the 751-C. Let me know if you still need it. I can get it scanned in when I go back to work in the new year.
