Hello People, I have a 743 with a v1702 engine in it. While checking the coolant level in the radiator, I noticed that the radiator cap has "7 LB Closed System" stamped on it. I am not the original owner of this machine and was wondering if this is the right radiator cap to have on it. The coolant temperature gauge does not work, but it does not seem to over heat... Thanks

A quick nose about on the web indicates that the OEM cap (6666606 Bobcat PN) is 7 psi.
Do you have the recovery tank? I think every system should be retrofitted to a tank as that allows a full radiator at all times. It does require a radiator cap with a seal at the top of the neck as well as the bottom to allow vacuum to draw the coolant back; I would imagine that most caps sold now would meet that requirement.

Hi, thanks for the information, I feel better now knowing that I have the correct cap on the radiator. It does have a plastic reservoir tank. The cap on that is more of a tightly fitting plastic plug. The hose from the radiator overflow runs to the bottom of this plastic tank. There are level indicator marks on it as well.
