1845C with new stump bucket grapple pics

I've got some stumps I'd like to get out, how effective are those buckets on a stump the size of the log that is in the picture. My guess is that are pretty quick on the smaller stumps(< 6") but not idea how much time and banging to get a stump of size out of the ground. Thanks Skeet

    1845C Aux Hydraulics

I am considering purchasing a Case 1845C and the owner indicates everything works fine except the auxillary hydraulics. The machine is a couple hours away and I haven't seen it in person as yet. It is my understanding there is one hydraulic pump on the back of the motor for this model but am I...

    1840 pulling to one side

No, I have not a replaced pump. The loader was this way when I purchased it last summer and I been working around the issue but would like to even it out. Where are the screws that you mention? Thanks

    1840 pulling to one side

Got a 1993 Case 1840 that is stronger on the left side so the driver has to compensate ont he opposite side. Trying to get a manual but needed some general info on whether that can be balanced out in the steering cable linkage or necessary to wait until it gets irritating enough to change the...

    Bought 1840 - Got 2 Problems

My drive chain on the right is clanking so I wanted to check the fluid level. In looking at the diagram on the case site there should be inspection plates on the chain drive tanks.... they are not there on my machine(which is a 1990). Anyone have an older machine that can help me out with how to...

    Bought 1840 - Got 2 Problems

Any possibility I could put a leak stop additive in the chain drive oil on that side and address the issue? Interested in hearing feedback on the good/bad scenario's. Thanks!

    Bought 1840 - Got 2 Problems

It is dripping at the plate/tub location. I guess it could be there or behind it with the o-ring at the housing seal. No oil out at the axle exit. I'll order a service manual today but if anyone has taken this area apart with similar issues, I'd appreciate any tips. Skeet

    Case 1840 fuel level LED's

I've got the same problem. Is this sender unit about 12 inches up the left rear post with a single green wire? So if I take that off and ground it, I should get a proper reading(assuming everything else is working properly)? If so, I replace the entrie unit? how much did a new one cost? Thanks

    Bought 1840 - Got 2 Problems

Finally found a 90 model 1840 that I could afford. Unit runs strong and is hydraulically pretty even on both sides. I've got two problems. I'm going to order a service manual this week but thought I'd ask you guys. All help is appreciated. 1. Gas gauge has all led's lit and I know the tank isn't...

Case 1840 - What is it worth?

Looking at a 1992 model Case 1840 with smooth bucket, toothbar, and forks. Unit has 1700 hrs and been used for by a landscaping contractor. Tires are about 75%. Need some of the Case experts help on the following as this will be my first skid steer. I've rented them before but they have always...

Are there Mustang Years or Models to Avoid?

As with most internet searches for equipment reviews, you typically only find those folks with bad experiences and looking to vent. As someone looking to add a skid steer on a modest budget to the farm, I've found several Mustang's in my price range but I'm leary based on lack of positive...

Newb Looking to Buy - Need Recommendations

Thanks for the feedback. What are your thoughts on an 853? Found one that looks good based on the pictures sent. The current owner has had it for 4 years with no issues. Tires are about 50%. Skeet

Newb Looking to Buy - Need Recommendations

I've rented and run SS before but not enough to really know the pros and cons of a given size, model, brand, etc. I've decided I can afford something in the 5K to 10K range and will be using it as follows: 1. Move Dirt/Rock on hilly terrain 2. Dig up small stumps after felling tree 3...
