I would take a good look at the wire. When I got my l555 every light was lite on the panel. It was all bad wires and grounds. My wire was cracked at the sending unit. With the servicing that you had, all it takes is a gentle tug on that wire to break it.

My L555 has 2 batteries one on each side. They at 10" x 20" approx. I would just make sure you have the cold cranking amps. I know in the winter if my batteries are not fully charged (topped off with my battery charger), I can crank for about 10 seconds before it starts to crank slower and die.

For future readers, it is pressed on and I also found it is just as easy to rebuild this pump as it is to replace the pump.. so I would look for a rebuild kit for it.. FYI

Has anyone replaced a water pump? How does the pulley come off the shaft? Is it pressed on?

Yea that is what I was thinking as far as making the bottom U hooks, but what I was wondering is the top part, would the L555 mount slip up under other manufacturers mounts?

My L555 has the original mounting plate. I realize that is unique to NH/JD but when I look at other attachments it seem like the top of the mount is similar "^" kind of top, but doesn't have the 2 double "L" on the bottom the the lever locks onto. My question is, are there other types...

There is a starter relay and a solenoid. The solenoid is mounted on top of the starter and the relay is on the other side up by the fire wall. The key send 12v to the relay which sends it to the solenoid. You may have a bad wire from the relay to the solenoid.

Thanks, yea I will watch Tractor supply... my toy needs work before I can play, every light was on except the "charge light" got them all off except alternator, but it is charging. It also inches forward slightly on right side when you let go of the controls.
