I got pre approved for this unit went to do one last test drive and felt like Somthing was loose and kinda loud so the tech at the dealership took it for a spin and said its normal for the 2 speed to do that. So I took a new s650 for a spin felt completly normal. I have ran quite a few S250s and never experienced this. Should I not buy it? FYI it grinds the most turning left

For what ever reasons, 2 speeds make a hell of a lot of noise. This is most noticable when trying to make high torque turns in high at low engine speeds, like on black top. Single speeds driveline is alot quieter. M series have a lot of sound deading in them and generally better insulated from machine noise.

Thanks for the reply. So this is Somthing I shouldent worry about? I did feel it on the pedals like somthing was slapping so I just wasent sure... They do have a 2009 there as well with 100 less hours same price only difference is the 09 is equipped with cat hand controls and has a radio. Would I be better off to buy that one if it doesent feel as rough when turning? What are your guys thoughts on the hand cat controls? I hope to make a decision by tomorrow and pick one up. Thanks

Only thing I would worry about on the drivetrain would be axle endplay. If there is in and out movement of the wheels, the bearings are getting bad. That said, a 2010 would have to be beat to all holy hell to have axle bearing problems. As to joystick control, that is totally up to you what you like. Some guys are so use to joystick, they will flat out refuse to use a standard control machine. I'm warming up to joystick, but not a huge fan of them yet. For running ground engauging attachments, they are nice with the abilty to adjust top speed. There is more stuff to go wrong, but over all, it is a pretty reliable system. Someday, a lift or tilt acturatoe will take a digger and about $600 a pop. The foot throttle is nice on joystick. One other thing, modle year dosn't mean anything, the changes happen with different serial number breaks and bobcat does that when ever they feel so a '09 and '10 should be identical. Before they started put the year on the serial nuber tag, the only time I knew what year a machine was when a '98 came in. Those had 40th annverisery decals on them.

The 2009 has 750 hrs and the 2010 has 818 so not much difference. It's very unlikely that it's been abused to the point of bearing damage then. They were both trade in from the towns around here. They are both priced at $37,000

Hand control vs regular controls is up to the user. Personally, I hate the hand control. It just doesnt seem to give the operator as much control over the machine in a tight spots. If your using the machine for construction purposes you will find these tight spots. Such as working around plumbing pipes in a building being built. Or close to walls that cannot be bumped, etc. Throwing dirt with hand controls is much harder also. If the machine is for homeowner use hand controls could be justified (but not at my house). The 250 is a great machine, I hope you find a good one.

Thanks, I have probley a good 1000 hrs on a S250 (ran it for a year straight) I worked the snot out of it at times and never really had any problems. Busted concrete landscaped loaded trucks snow removal you name it she did everything. That was all on foot controls got so good with the machine I could slide the fork under a baseball size stone on concrete pick it up and flick it off to the side. I totaly agree with you on hows it's easyer to Throw dirt. The machine will be used for around my acreage landscaping and moving steel for my welding shop. I have always been a big fan of bobcat so that's why I was just kinda bummed out when this 2010 with 800 hours drove like crap compared to the 06 I ran with 3000 hrs that was ridden hard and put away wet daily.......

No chip, the engine is not computer controlled. It is still old school mechanical.

Has anyone experimented with Getting some more fuel out of the pump mechanically?
Well I walked away from that machine, I tested 3 other machines one with 6500 hrs and had pretty much no noise/ vibrations. The other 2 had very slight noise but nothing like the 2010 where it feels like somthing is hitting your feet.
