Good evening. New to the site. New business owner as well. Stumbled across this site in search of an answer to a question that I have. Background - I am in the fencing business and have some field experience, but have been on the office side most of my life. Opened my own fence company in January of 2014 and I now have three skid steers. I have found that my subcontractors do not give a darn about my machinery. In short, I showed up to a jobsite today on a surprise inspection and found a caution light showing in my Bobcat T750 on the temperature gauge. It had not been run for at least 24 hours. I have not had access to my manual since I noticed this warning light. I was wondering if anyone could pinpoint what this might be. Any information would be appreciated.

Check that the cooling fins are clear and that the cooling fan is running.
Also check the coolant levels.

The last time this happened to my machine, it had thrown off the belt to the fan. I just had to raise the cab and put the fan back on the pulleys. After that, I put a piece of thin orange surveyor's tape where the fan exhaust exits, by the lift arms. That way, from seated in the cab, I can look out the side window, and if I see the tape streaming I know the fan it turning. Once it stops turning, the machine goes to warning, and then shutdown, in only a few minutes.

This machines cooling fan is hydraulic, not belt driven. If this machine has the fancy computer display with icons. You will see a yellow triangle with a ! in the middle. IF you scroll to this triangle it should bring up some info. If it doesn't have the computer display, it should bring up a code somewhere. I'm not sure if codes can be displayed by holding the "lights" button like older machines. Sorry, I'm not familiar with a 750 without a computer display.

If the code is active, it will display in the hour meter screen. Also it can be checked by scrolling threw the menu button by the hour meter. Once again, the code must be active to show, otherwise it will say NONE. Is the machine actually hot when the warning going off? If it is first checked there is air from the fan blowing out the side. A 750 has a hydraulic driven fan, normally they leak, but not stop working when they fail. Next flip the hydraulic cooler up and make sure the radiator is clean. If it is giving a warning when the machine is cold, probably a sensor. Call the dealer and have them check it. It can be a simple straightforward sensor problem or a more in-depth electrical problem. Either way, a decent dealer tech should be able to figure it out pretty quick.
