V2203 in 743b injector lines

Hello, Ihave a v1702 in the 743b now that needs replacing. I've been told that a v2203 reefer eng. will fit. Has anyone ran into the injector line clearance between the 1702 intake manifold on the 2203 and where the lines go the pump on the 2203. thanks, quinq
 
It appears that the nozzle holders are taller on the 2203 than the 1702 thus making the inj. line nut to come into contact with the manifold. Any suggestions?? quinq

Why aren't you using the injector lines from the donor V2203 on the V2203? Those would fit fine.......

hi, miker67 because I'm changing the intake manifold...to the type that is used on the v1702, so my air intake will macth up

Is there any chance you can get the face of the manifold skimmed to get it to clear?
I know others have done this engine swap successfully, i just wonder if they used the new manifold and flexible hose to the air filter box. Which is another option if you really need to....

Thanks Tazza, I'm wondering what others have done also. As I stated earlier the difference between the two engines is the hieght of the injector holders on the pump.

I know the exact piece you mean. If the face of the inlet manifold was machined, it will sit closer to the head which *may* have given you the clearance needed.
If i remember, when i get home i'll have a look to see just how different the manifolds are. I know the air intake on the V1702 comes out at right angles and the V2203 is at the end. I thought the profiles were still pretty close.

I'm going to look into the machining idea... because if I end up using the manifold with the intake at the end it's going to take some doing to get the hose hooked up. The only other thought I had is to make some room for the line nuts by cutting and tig welding on the manifold... but I'm affraid that it will reduce the air flow to that one cly.

I can't see a small restriction causing any problems, its only going to be a small section..
I have to agree with the inlet hose routing to be a pain, hopefully you can get the V1702 one to fit.
