Yes surplus center has always been good to deal with.
I got some flat faced couplers from DHH and was less then satisfied too. Sent back 5 of 16 that leaked from the moment they where installed. I did not return them quick enough for warranty (pita for me to travel a hour to the border to ship back a $40 part)
I was installing them as needed on attachments. The duds kept adding up and when I got a few I called and they said "unusual". Ended up sending them back for "flushing", called to remind them once after and months later still no parts back. I'll spend the extra 25 on genuine Fasters now.

Companies like that won't last long. You need to give some support and not pis$ off your customers. Nothing moves faster than a bad reputation.

Update...
I got the fittings that were on backorder and much to my surprise... they send me a baker's dozen instead of the twelve I ordered. I can't complain about a free fitting right?

Okay... so they sent fittings made by two different manufacturers... no big deal as long as they don't leak. (SR you've got me thinking).
Next...
I've been heating and pounding on the bucket pins for about a week now and all I've got to show for it is one of the pins moved about 1/4 inch. The pins are pairs welded to plates that connect them together so you really can't take just one pin out... they both must move at the same time. You have a little wiggle room but not much.
I had to use a big puller I have along with lots of heat. I put as much pressure on the puller as I could and then heated the sleeve the pin goes through to cherry red and then pounded the end of the puller with a 10# sledge hammer. That got the pin moving. Now I need to do the same to the other pin but I can't get the puller to attach behind the sleeve like I could with the first pin. Grrrr. I'll get it eventually but what a PITA.
Pictures later... baseball first.

You cant put a chain around the boom and a bottle jack and use it to press the pin out?
Or fab up some sort of fixture to hold the jack?

Question, are the o-rings that came with the new section the same size as the ones used between the old sections?
The reason I ask is, I can buy 3469149201 KA10 Intersection seal kit from White House, Hy-Power or Tidyco but I'm having trouble locating 3459149004 Unit 10 Intersection seal kit (pre October 1986) except from a Parker Distributor here in the US $14.80 each

White House told me their;
V8093 KONTAK UNIT 10 SPOOL KIT is Parker 3459149003 $3.38520 USD
V8091 KA10 INTERSECTION SEAL KIT is Parker 3469149201 $9.10780 USD
V8031 POPPET VALVE TYPE UNIT 10 PRE 1986 is Parker 3459149006 $22.6970 USD
V8031 should be a Parker 3469149112 ALDCV-KIT
V8015 KA10 MAIN RELIEF VALVE (CARTRIDGE) is Parker 3459002001 $31.7886 USD

I received a quote from a Parker Distributor here in the US for the 3459002001 Externally Adjustable Main Relief Valve $285.44 That same valve V8015 KA10 MAIN RELIEF VALVE (CARTRIDGE) is $31.7886 USD from White House.

As a matter of fact, I received a quote from that Parker Distributor for all the seal kits for my Kontak Unit 10 Valve and their prices are all more than double what it would cost me to buy from White House including shipping.
3459149003 Spool Seal Kit $24.50
3469149112 Check Valve Kit $43.97

Tidyco (http://www.tidyco.co.uk) has some prices that are lower than White House.

Sorry for the delay, I only just saw this post.
My BH 108 Owners manual has the date November 1, 1986 printed on the front cover. I'm not certain if that means my backhoe was manufactured after Oct 1986 or just the manual was. However I can tell you this... I ordered a new pre-1986 Load Check Valve from White House and the valve they sent me (which was clearly marked pre-1986 on the package) would not fit my valve. I would assume that means my bh is not pre-1986.
Having said that... the O-rings that came with the new Unit10 valve I received from White House were the same as the O-rings used in my valve but keep in mind that my Owner's Manual is dated November 1, 1986.
I already had the O-ring kits for connecting the valve segments together so I didn't need to order those kits from Parker or White House. For reasons that escape me, the end cap O-ring kit is different from the valve segment kits... why?
The larger O-ring (I think about 1") I needed for the end cap I found on e-Bay for 5 bucks (package of 100). I also bought two O-Ring assortment packs from Harbor Freight, Item# 67554 (US) and Item# 67580 (metric). Each package contains almost 400 O-rings of various standard sizes. I got them for about 10 bucks each during one of Harbor Freights never ending special sales events.
