( Mitey mac 8b) I'm going to take the control unit out from under my seat area to have rebuilt as a member here had done that and fixed the problem. just curious.. If my lift cylinders were bad wouldn't their be oil residue leaking out of them? I recall a skid I had once that needed seals in cylinders and it had lots of fluid run out by ram. The current MM 8b both are bone dry ( as far as leaking out) even though lift comes down quite fast. I need to find a place to either rebuild that contol thing under seat .. or do it myself if can get a rebuild kit

The cylinders have seals around the pistons. The piston seal can go bad and the sweeper seals on the outside can be fine. If this is the case The cylinder will normally leak down if left in a loaded position, i.e. bucket curled up or the lift arms up will slowly lower by themselves.
