Here is a link I found to the Technical manual for the John Deere 240 and 250 Skid steers. I was excited to find this. This kept me from having to buy a paper manual that cost around $100.00. http://www.mediafire.com/?ed2jtzvnmmz

Usually the shop manual has all the owners manual information in it as well.
I have never seen a pdf of one floating around but you can try www.tradebit.com

I bought a Service Manual for my 332, but there is not stink in it on electrical, and I can't find any manuals on electrical at the jd site. any ideas where to get one? this is weird. every service manual i've ever used (just a handful) have had electrical in them. thank. j
 
Hello all, New to the forum but have been skid steering for the last 30 years. I have always had Bobcats from the 300 series to the 800 series. I have never had a major problem with the machines. I have just purchased my first John Deere 240 series 2. from what I have been told the JD should give the Bobcat a run for it's money. One thing I always have close is a service manual and my search has brought me here. I see you have found a Tech manual for the 240. Does this also cover a 240 series 2 ???? Looks like I may need one for electrical issues.

No just the firs series, though I sure many things would be close, if you find a series 2 one let us know

Hi Forum members, I have a question that I could use some help with. I have a 2003 JD 240 Skidloader, 909 Serial number series. I just brought a 2001 JD DIPPERSTICK (backhoe) attachment. When the skid loader is attached to the dipperstick and I made one move in any direction with the controls, is there a reason why the seatbelt and parking brake lights come on and cause the attachment to stop working? Please help if possible...
 
Most JD machines have safety switches in seat and safety bar or belt so if you are not sitting in the seat the machine will not operate. It will start and run but nothing works until you have weight in the seat and the safety bar or seat belt hooked up .

Thank you for getting back to me on this. The problem that I think is the reason is do to one or two Pressure Relief Valves on the JD 911 Pro Extendable Dipperstick. The attachment is a 2001 model and not lot of people know much about them. The was one sales rep at the JD dealership months ago that advised me before I brought it to replace all the hoses if I could. Recently I went back to the dealership to fine the Rep is no longer with the company and the Newbees/Millennial don't have a clue about the old school attachments. I did that and it worked fine until 3 lines for pinched while doing work around the homestead. The lines have since been replaced and it won't move very much. I cracked every line that I could bleed air out of the lines and still no success. That's why I'm in the forum now.
