Getting ready to install the rubber tracks after I ended up rebuilding both track tensioner units.

The tracks are brand new, but I noticed the frame has a lot of wear (7100 hrs on this machine) where the track teeth seemed to have been in contact on the top side.

My unit has track guides which have all been repaired at one time. My question is does the height of the guides need to be taller than the height of the teeth? My guides seem to be shorter than the teeth. I assume if the track tension is correct then the teeth should not even touch the track frame? I have seen some photos in the service manual where some T250 serial numbers may not even had track guides??

I will answer my own question. I appears if the correct tension the track should clear the guides.

The track tension on this machine must not have been well maintained by the previous owners as the frames were wearing from the track "teeth" and just happen to notice hairline cracks developing in both frames. So I welded them up and frequently check the track tension so the frames don't eaten.
