Thanks Tazza, Update, linkage is snugg and adjusted, and I have noticed it's only when I pull the right joystick back, pushing forward is smooth. pulling back slowly on right side causes sudden jerk. Any idea's welcome Thanks JeffIts possible the linkage is worn or loose. Lift the cab, look at where the alloy blocks bolt to the arms on the drive pump. Get a screwdriver, see if you can lever the alloy blocks up, if they move, they are loose and need tightning up. If they have been that way for some time, they will be worn and need replacing. My s250 had this problem, they were worn, i put them in the mill and machined them square and installed shims, worked a treat.
Hopefully its that simple.
Have you ensured the linkage at the pump is tight and snug on the shaft? This sounds a lot like problems you get when the alloy arms wear and it allows the shaft to turn on its own causing it to jump. Also check the bushes on the shaft the steering levers pivot on. A friend of mine has a 753F that had worn these bushes , his solution was to machine the aluminium tubes out to accept two ball bearing on each side. Now both levers pivot on bearings with zero slop and very smooth. New rubber bushes in the rest of the linkages make it as new or better.Have you ensured the linkage at the pump is tight and snug on the shaft? The bolts may be tight, but if the arm is worn it will move how ever it wants to causing a lot of frustration.
