Any suggestions on brands to buy/not to buy?
Snow Blowers: still cold here in Frozen Tundra country

The newer blower have a separate hyd motor for both the fan and the auger, whick eliminates gearboxes or chains drives and is a feature well worth having. I believe all the oem blowers Cat Bobcat Case etc would be made this way. There are also several afftermarket manufactures. we deale for Erskine / Quick-Atached (whom used to be oem for Bobcat) and have had very good results with their product line.
Some have the ability to blow snow behind the loader by placing the chute completely to one side. It would be a benifit in a tight spot, but perhaps slower overall as the auger has to carry some snow all the way across the attachment. But if a feature like that suits your needs , you owe it to yourself to find out about these various features
I'm sure there are many good companys making them. It might be hard to find stock at the moment, I had a customer wanting a snow blade, but I can't get a price right now as the next winter build is not till Aug, Steel prices have been up and down and the manufacture said they woould not know what their cost would be yet.
Most blowers use the same hydraulic motors from Eaton. Basically it the way they design the frame. Large fans and auger can move more snow faster, so compare the size of these.
Be aware however that a blower needs to be set up with the correct motors to match the hydraulic output of the loader for best performance. So if you find a deal on a used one, keep that in mind.
