I am looking for fuel, temp and amp gauges for a complete 743 restore. Not having any luck with OEM parts. Is there anything special about the temp and fuel gauges? There are a bunch of 2" equipment gauges out there, just not 1980's vintage bobcat

I would think that you would be okay with generic gauges on this age of machine, so long as you replace the sending unit with one appropriate for your selected gauge.

I just replaced the temp and volt gauge on my 743. You can use generic gauges but have to modify the housing quite a bit. The originals mount differently and you have to enlarge the hole a little. 2" gauges are a LITTLE over 2". Originals would be better if your doing a complete rebuild. I was just trying to get mine functional.

I bought OEM ones a few years back, they weren't stupidly priced really. At least that way, they worked to give the correct fuel level.
