okay so after hearing the deutz 2011 run perfectly in by burned skid project im on to the next task of trying to figure out what to do with the hydrostatic pump, the seals by the pintles look shot as does the shaft seal, the unit may have also taken on some water or debri from the fire and storage, I can get a seal/gasket kit for about 120.00 and bearings for around 200.00. I dont know if it needs any of this, but since im replacing the seals, Id like to hear some input on a DIY rebuild or repair. what are some physical characteristics that it needs a rebuild? should the shaft spin by hand easily? TIA

To be honest, get the pump apart, then make the decision about bearings. If there are marks from water getting in, replace them.
The shaft will not turn by hand, you have 2 rotating groups that need to spin, all have a bit of friction.

When you get it apart, you will most likely be able to read the numbers on the bearings. Search them up and it will be a lot cheaper than ordering based on the bobcat part number.
