I bought an early JD250 that had a blown pump motor on it. I got all the guts in a box and rebuilt it. The machine is running and back together now.....I went to lower the cab and with the joysticks pushed as far forward as they go... No way to get the cab down. I have owned several skid steers and this one has me baffled. There is a bolt in the back that if you loosen it the joysticks will rotate forward and then I can get the cab down. BUT no way to put those bolts in when the cab is down. No Access to those bolts..What am I missing? I cannot find any info except the manuals online simply say just to lower and raise the ROPS. Wondering if something was modified ? Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

The bolts are only there to hold the sticks in the neutral position with the cab up. If you take the bolts out the cab holds them in place when lowered

I have a 240, same cab as 250. Just raised and lowered cab today as a matter of fact. When you lift the cab, the joystick automatically moves forward. I'll try and attach pic as my cab is currently up. The "back of the joystick platform" raise up on their own as the tops is lifted which causes sticks to move forward. Only two nuts hold cab in place.

Tried creating a link with pic of joysticks with tops in raised position. Hopefully this is helpful.
