Just lost the turbo for the third time on my R220. The machine has less than 350 hours and this turbo only lasted 20 hours. Has anyone tried the aftermarket turbo's?

Three times for 350 hours is .... too much. The reason may not be in the turbo itself. Very unpleasant .... What oil do you use? Is everything ok with the oil paths to the turbo / does oil come on the feed tube? /. Another reason could be a bad or missing air filter / Once I hit a machine that had an empty air filter box./ Even cheap Chinese turbo's work for at least 1000 hours.

Everything has been done by the dealer, to Gehl's specs. When they look at the run history on the machine they didn't find issues with the way we have been running it. I'm not sure what to do with this machine now because our local dealer gave up their dealership over this turbo issue. They had several units with the same problem.

This is a relatively new engine. 4TNV98CT is a common rail engine with dpf system. If the machine is a guaranty, my advice is to turn to a dealer. If it is not you have to check all possible reasons for this problem. You have to check the engine oil quality, the oil delivery and return of the turbocharger, the air filter, the correct operation of the DPF system and then change the turbo with a new one. Why did you think the turbo did not work?

They turbine exploded. First one took out the motor. Second and third went out so the motor is fine.

The main causes of turbo failure that i'm aware of are lack of oil or not letting it cool down after running on boost.
Could there be an issue with the wastegate allowing the boost to get too high?
There is no reason why you should have had one turbo fail with such low hours, not to mention 3....
