Perkins Shibaura

Hi guys, can anyone tell me if a Perkins 104-19 and a Shibaura N844 are the same engine? as in parts will interchange exactly between the 2 models. I am guessing that the Shibaura 8N44 and 8N44T are the same apart from the cyl head or pistons that alter the compression ratio,cheers Gazza

They do appear to be alot a like. You got me thinking now. I know they n884 and n844t had a different head and pistons, I looked into making my 160 a turbo with a lx665 (n884t) head but the pistons came up a different part # then mine so I left it alone.
If you can get a perkins manual to compare that engine with this one
