old bobcat model ? missing id plate. Have pictures

Hy everyone, its the new guy on the block. I have a bobcat that I need help identifying the machine runs really well but the right side clutches are getting bad because the stick has to move way to far to engage the cluth. I have a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e_lsPAnmPs4&feature=plcp

M600 or M700 series? Both machines are very close in looks and size. Take some dimensions of overall height, width and wheel base and post them. It will help to decide which one it is. Also if you can get any info off the Wisconsin engine.

This will be a good one to learn on.......correct me if I'm wrong (which I often am). I thought the M-600/610/700 all had the same width (54"), wheel base (35") .........height would be different (M-700 83".....M-600/610 82") and length (M-700 111.5"......M600/610 107"). If I remember correctly (and this part is fuzzy) there were different teeth counts on some of the gears of the different machines. Engine would tell us something.....provided it was the original (which I doubt). Others will know more about this then I do though.

Thanks for replying. The center to center axle is 35"--- from the ground to the bottom of the lifting arm is 108" and to the center of the bottom pin is 110"----lenght of chasi outside to outside is 69"---- width of chasi is 39 3/4 outside to outside -----from the ground to the roof is 80 1-2 ----- uot side to outside tred tire width of machine is 59" dont know if its oringinal wheels and tires ------ engine block color is white and hour mter works at 3300 hrs not sure if its original engine but here the numbers 3 1-4 -- 3 1-4 # 290423

To determine which Wisconsin engine it has look in the distributor at the cam that the points rub on. The VH4D will have evenly spaced lobes. The VF4D will be unevenly spaced.

Thanks for the diagram I drew a diagram with all my mesurment but it will not let me paste it so here it goes I did all my mesurments acording to the diagram --- bucket 60 and 3/4"-- center to center tire is 49" ----outside to outside tire is 59" ---with bucket down to the ground i mesured from cutting edge of the bucket to the rear door 108" ---from bucket pins to rear door 79" ---- roof to ground 80.5" ----rear of lifting arms to ground 58 " ----bucket fully raised i got 110" to the ground from bucket hinge pin ----- 108" from bottom of lifting arm to the groun was 108" with bucket fully raised and thats all tommorw i will check the distribter thanks

The 79" from pins to the rear door makes it a 600 series. The minor variations in the height dimensions could be differences in tire size or tire wear.

The trouble with these measurements from Bobcat is they depend on "factory" tires (height & width, which yours are not), "factory" cab (height, which yours is not) and "factory" bucket (length, which many are not). Are there any differences in the "frame/body" themselves between the 600 & 700 series? My apologizies for the stupid picture.........I was trying to learn how to link the "Bobcat Historical Spec" sheet yesterday when I somehow ended up with the dang thing. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get rid of it.......haven't learned how to 'quote' a post, 'edit' a post, or add a link. I've read all the FAQ and punched every button I can find (hence the stupid pic)......if anyone can help I'd sure appreciate it.

There's a 10" difference in the length from the arm pin and the rear door. 700 is 89" and 600 is 79"

Machinist....I understand that one......what I'm wondering is if you remove the arms....is there a difference in "body" measurements themselves. I can't find anything in the "Historical" archives. I don't think I've ever had a M700 here but not sure now.

I havn't seen enough of them to know. We'd have to get several members to measure them up and see.

I fixed your link.
The easy way to post links is to use the Create Link button(looks like a globe with a chain under it), just click it and put your link in the pop up box. It will put the link in your post where ever the cursor was.

OK.....here's what I get. Length. (less the door) 68", width (outside wall to outside wall) 32", chain case width 5", inside width (wall to wall) 22", and height 26.5". These are mostly 610s, couple of 600s and a couple I'm not too sure.

Thanks for the assist OM......I'm sorry but I can't find the "Create Link" (globe w/chain) button anywhere on this page. I'm on an Apple......would that make a difference or is it just an 'underpowered' operator?
