I have a 2010 Bobcat S150 1820 hours. I bought it with 1740 hours on it.
Oil levels are all good all belts are tensioned properly. Boom and Bucket runs quietly but steering is noisy.
sounds like cavitation or oil pressure release valve. I am new to diesel and hydraulics. Just wondering where to start.
I am going to do the 2000 hour maintenance on it this week even though I still have 180 hours to go.
which includes drive filters.
Noise probably was present when I bought unit but since I am green did not notice.
Noise has not got worse and the same winter or summer, engine hot or cold.
The first 40 hours were plowing snow. But I am using a grapple rake now clearing land.
Drive seems fine. no power loss.
Suggestions apprieciated
Thanks Mike

After performing your 2000 hour service if your issue still exists.....

(providing all hydraulic filters change and proper api oil) + check for metal in oil

I would check your control valve, I have done a few where the seals were worn out and by-passing making the drive weak and sounds like cavitating but I've also had ones where I had to replace the entire valve / spool (rare)
