No speed change

I'm a newbie to my 600,one of my issues is when I advance the variable speed(the belt does rise in the drive pulley,about 1/2 way up) the the ground speed doesn't increase? Thanks in advance!

check and see if the belt is glazed and slipping it can be worn to the point that it needs replacement . Right off hand I do not know the min. width measurement that it needs. they are still factory belts available I think.
