This morning I put a down payment on a project...
He was kind enough to deliver it for me ... shooting for this saturday..

It's rough... needs TLC it's got electrical issues... after the second starter died he parked it.
keyswitch is hanging... lots of stuff. I'll be busy for a while.... probably a lot of cussing and spitting...
but sooner or later... I WILL prevail....

good luck, there a decent machine,,, I have one(1999 yr model)
and sadly its also hard on starters as well, on my 3 th one in 10 yrs, and seems to kill key switches too, on my 3th one of them too for unknown reasons,
good thing is there cheap and easy to replace! and seems every one the keys are the same, so I got lots of extra keys now for this machine, HAHA!
however, starters not so much

Where is the best place to get a repair manual for these?

I have seen decent condition ones on Ebay for fair prices, and I know there are tons of free downloads out there too, if one looks, that or maybe starts a thread here asking for one?
