Mustang 440

I picked up a 81 Owatonna Mustang 440 with what I believe is a 42hp Ford engine a couple years ago. Haven't had any real issues with it but yesterday it stopped running out of the blue and won't start. Turns over strong, has gas, has spark won't even sputter like it wants to start. What could the issue be? We we are thinking timing maybe? Thanks

I had a similar problem with a different machine. It ended up being the fuel pump had lost pressure.

If this is a gas engine, try starter fluid. If that doesn't work then it is most likely a timing issue, but could also be a carburetor problem.
