does anyone have a mustang 2050, or had one....I have some questions. Just bought one and having problems with starting.

started and ran while unloading from the trailer, drove it to my back barn about 200 yards. the next day started and drove about 100 yards it shut off. had a loose wire on the battery. connected it, then it started for about 10 seconds and shut off. haven't been able to restart. turns over just doesn't fire off. I added diesel to the tank, unscrewed the water separater, just got diesel out. I have a service manual that mentions a hand priming pump that I have not been able to find, and doesn't show on the parts diagram. Any ideas????

Our 2054 uses a electric pump. I would find the fuel line that comes from the tank and remove it to check for flow. Ours is bad about getting crap in the line. Does yours use a electric fuel shut off or a pull cable? If you suspect it ran out of fuel I would crack open injection lines and crank looking for fuel. If you have Electric fuel shut off I would check that for operation or see if you can manually operate it. If you had a wire come off look close and be sure there isn’t another one hiding

I loosened the fuel/water bowl and had plenty of fuel, the line is not plugged. I think it has an electric shut off, since I just turned off the key the first time I drove it to the barn after taking it off the trailer. didn't have to manually pull the cable to shut off. thanks

Check all the fuses you can find. The controllers on the 54 series can be problematic although they will usually start run for a few seconds then shut down
