Mt 50 Fuel and running problems

Hello guys. I have a 2001 Mt 50. It started up fine the other morning to load onto the trailer for a job. Get to the job and it screaming at full throttle. Throttle lever is idled down and it still full rpms. Sounds like it going to blow up. I know it an injection pump problem. My question is. How hard is it to remove and replace the pump? I'm assuming the engine needs to be remove to get the pump off? Any imput to removing pump? Thanks Doug

Are you sure it's the pump and not the governor?
What model engine is it running? as I have never worked on one of these machines.
