motor size v-1702/v2203 will it fit in 1600 bobcat?

seen on some ads for motors where seller says the 2203 will fit in area ,they are more recent and common than the 1702's now anyone know the answer dealer said him or nobody at the shop knows if it will work . thanks for any help also looking for gehl dealer who at one time advertised in the new england equip. trader books he was from midwest?? i tried to search the dealer list but did not seem see his name. have not seen his ads for a few years now .
