Mighty mac 8B.. Battery location?

When I bought this Mighty Mac it has a full size car battery strapped on top of hydro tank with 2 bunggie cords. barely fits. it is in there long way front to rear and is only 1 inch from big power belt? What battery is suppose to be in there and where is it suppose to be mounted?

Any pics of battery mount on a Gehl HL2500? I understand pretty much same machine. mine has onan engine. I'm very leary having battery bunggied inplace and only inch from turning belt. Thought about welding holder ontop of cross brace in back.. But got to be better place? diagram I saw on net looks like battery is behind right foot?
