LX865 cranks over but won't start.

I bought this machine not running prev owner said it needed a starter.

I just installed a brand new starter & keyswitch

the engine will turn over but not start. fuel lift pump is running.... I bled the pump fine but no fuel is coming out of injector lines.

Another Odd thing is, When I turn off the keyswitch and remove key... the EIC board still has lights on.

I can hear the solenoid on the top of the injector pump click softly when I remove/replace the wire connector.

I'm not sure what the other solenoid is on the bottom of the injector pump... (see picture)

There is obviously something wrong with the board... could it be that the EIC is shutting down the injector pump when I turn the key to start?

Is there a way to disable the fuel shutoff solenoid temporarily just to see if this thing will run?

what is the solenoid? on the bottom where I am holding the wire?

Can't answer about the bottom solenoid/sensor. But pretty sure the top one is the shutoff solenoid. You could run a hot jumper wire straight from the battery to test it. Just make sure you safely unhook it to shut it off.

thanks
I was also thinking tomorrow I will remove it and bench test it ..... I am Praying it is NOT the injector pump... He said it was replaced a couple years ago and it's looks fairly clean.

also was thinking even though the lift pump IS working ... maybe it's not full force.. (what it should be)?

Speaking of lift pumps.... Does anyone know how many PSI or GPH the lift pump is?
I would love to use an inline fuel pump like Kubota uses on their BX tractors.

Wow, yous is different from mine.
try checking for voltage at each of these with the ign switch on, & again with the starter engaged.
( yes, this would be a trick if you are working by your self.)
I think the bottom would be a timing adjuster, but I have not seen an electrical one before.
This is energized to run, so you could just bypass/hot wire it as a test.
lift pump pressure, on my dodge-cummins is said to be 5 psi plus. engine will run if lower, but due to fuel-lubrication starvation, the injector pump will self destruct. not the case here , I hope.
seems like some of the Caterpillar products were suppose to have at least 15 psi, but they had a different injector pump.
I hate to suggest this, but ... If the machine has been sitting for a while with injector pump control in the "fuel off" position, it is conceivable that the fuel has algae-fied and the pump is stuck in the fuel off position. this was experienced on a different machine with a manual kill pull rod without the the electric fuel off solenoid.
If you are considering the problem to be this, you can remove the top cover from the fuel system, & manually free up the valve. it has a very weak spring taking it to the fuel on position, and a stronger going to fuel off. If you take the cover off, and every thing is brown, & a little slimy, you are probably there. you will probably have to treat the fuel with algae-cide "forever" even after you( eventually) have the injector pump rebuilt.( they wont just clean it, they will insist on a flat rate rebuild, so be prepared for double the initial "estimate" )

ANY TIME YOU MESS WITH THE GOVERNOR, BE PREPARED TO SMOTHER THE ENGINE IF IT STICKS IN "FUEL ON" AT START UP!!!

This is not a solo operation, and not for faint hearted.
but this was the case for a John Deere tractor for a while. just, after shutting down, move the fuel lever back away from low idle to a mid-range setting while engine is still hot.
Good luck, CE

Not to say "you are doing it wrong", but this is from service manual.
