my LS 185.b has been working no problems. had the brush hog on it and the boom will intermittently get locked out. while i was brush hogging both boom and bucket tilt would stop working and lock out the pedals. i came back to the shop, was barley able to force the door open to get out. pulled the door off and turned the door switch to the no door position. i have bucket tilt now. boom is intermittent. on startup the boom will work up and down maybe two times ( didn't try full range) then locks out again. shut it off, restart and does the same thing. bucket tilt seems to work all the time now. my guess is something is loose and not making good contact in the elec system some place. seems like both should get locked out however. any ideas?? TIA.

Is it physically preventing you from moving the pedals? If so, must be electrical. Odd that ground drive or (sometimes) fuel solenoid is not dropping out too, #31 & 32 are the lockout solenoids. Issue must be with wires going to them or grounds associated with that circuit. Believe there's a ground near bottom of RH front cab post. Think you have to take fender off to find it. That's probably the closest one physically.
If you can still move the pedals, then hydraulic. I was thinking there was a priority issue where auxiliary hydraulics has priority of boom functions, but can't confirm that now.
Anyhow, no concrete help, but maybe stir some thought that'll help.

if your seat belt or seat safety switch fails, it will lock out controls for boom/tilt
there could be a fuse for things
both of these fail from time to time, all the more so the seat pressure switch, as you bounce about on cab on seat, it wears them out!
and? i'm
not 100% but I think your model still has a switch for service mode, if you put it into service mode, do controls work?

I tried service mode, the controls did not work. I just cant figure out why boom is locked, but the bucket works.

On the LS185.B & L185 with the newer in-line hydro pumps, if the seat belt or seat switch fails/looses connection the park brake should come on, lock up the ground drive and beep. If that's not happening or you don't see the park light or seat belt light, I don't think the problem is coming from those circuits. (Although they frequently do cause problems.)

ordered a new door switch, i remembered that if the door switch is not depressed/ or gets knocked outta place, the skid steer will have bucket functions but not boom functions. also going to replace seat switch and harness as previous owner cut off the end and wired them together. still doing the same thing. on startup everything works. raise and lower boom two times and it locks. still have bucket tilt.
