Evening folks. I have a Bobcat 763 that has developed a leak. Hydraulic fluid is coming through the bolts on the access cover in the area right between the foot controls. It seemed to lose power as well, almost like if the main drivebelt were bad. I just replaced the belt, so that's not the problem. Wondering if any of you have had the same problem, and what you came up with.. Thanks in advance, Larry

Have you been having to add hydraulic fluid regularly?
It sound like you have a drive motor with a bad seal and it has leaked oil into the chaincase over filling it to the point it is leaking out the top covers of the chain case.
On the front of the lower machine frame by the tie down loop (behind the quick attach) is a plug the faces forward, that you remove with a 1/2" drive ratchet. If you remove that I bet your chaincase is 5 gallons above that level plug.
You need to determine which motor is leaking and reseal or replace it.

That was my first thought too. But the level doesn't go down in the reservoir. Last time I checked the chaincase fluid it ran out of plug hole. I just figured it was because front tires were in curb, so the machine was leaning forward. I'll check the level in chaincase again in morning. Thanks, Larry

If the level of fluid is high, would it cause the loss of power in drive pump?

Well I still haven't figured out where my leak is. But I did figure out the loss of power. When I put the new drive belt on, I had no idea the idler was spring loaded, and just cranked it tight and tightened the bolt. I was screwing around in there today and seen the sticker on the inside of door.. HOW TO ADJUST IDLER PULLY in big bold letters..lol. Now it has power again.

The chaincase fluid can raise two ways. Covers are loose and water is getting in there. Second is a motor carrier seal is leaking hyd fluid from the motor into the chaincase. Check your cover bolts, they very well could be loose. Even if the chaincase isn't overfull, it is splash lubed and can leak pass the gasket.
