I have a 1999 763 Bobcat. I was pushing snow just fine at my house. I load it up and take it to move snow somewhere else. I go to back it off the trailer and it won't bugde. I messed around with everything coming short of tapping on everything with a heavy object (just kidding) and still nothing. With the lap bar down I can raise and tilt the bucket but it won't move. With the lap bar up, I can move the bobcat but the raise and tilt controls won't work. I am guessing it is the safety switch on the lap bar, which is located on the left mounting area for the bar. I pulled the safety switch out and it had some crud where the two magnetic ??electrical pickups are. I cleaned that and nothing. If this is the problem, can the wires on the switch side be cut and by-passed? There are three blue wires going to a connector and out of the connector there are green, black and red wires that go to the safety switch. Thanks for any info. Craig

What does the seat bar light on the BICS box do when you put the bar down? What are the rest of the lights doing also.

The only lights that came on was the power and lap bar. There was a code that came on and then went back off. It was HN1-6.

Sorry, That should have been HF1-6.
The code is for the first hydraulic filter and it mean the there's no signal from the sensor.
If the light for the seat bar is coming on when you put it down the sensor on it is working.
There are a two different versions of the BICS systems, one has lights for System activated, Seat bar, Valve, Traction and Power. The other version has a light for the Seat switch instead of System activated. Which one do you have?

I have the first one that you mentioned. If it helps, I do not have any sensors on the seat. I have had the warning code come on before and then when it starts to warm up, it will go off. I am guessing this is due to the cold temps?

You may want to check the wire connection on the sensor at the filter because the code HF1-6 is saying that there's no signal from it.
On the the other problem try this. Turn the key to the run position, put the lap bar down and press the Press to Operate button and see what the lights on the BICS box do. It should turn on all the lights when you first turn the key and then only the power light will be on, when you put the lap bar down that light should come on and when you press the button all the lights should come on. If they don't watch to see if any of them are flashing.
If you don't have the service manuals for you machine you can go to this link and find the folder for it and download them. http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=31fe914bdce0f59019747bd91027d4ddf46528a8107c8e29
The section called System Analysis covers the BICS troubleshooting for 763 and for a 763G it's under Electrical System.

I did as you said. All of the lights came on except for the traction light.

Parking brake is off and I get the same thing. It's just weird that I can make one thing work with the bar down but other things won't work, and vice versa.
OK, I went out to get the bobcat off the trailer. I started it up, the foot/park brake was off from going through the test from the previous threads, and the lap bar was down ( normal operating procedures) and everything worked as it should ???. I backed it up on the trailer, locked the foot brake because the trailer is a tilt trailer, jacked up the trailer and went to back the bobcat off. The initial problem was back. This makes me think that something on the foot/park brake is sticking in the locked position. I checked the switch that the foot brake engauges to and it looked fine. Any ideas as to where I should be looking? Thanks Craig

If the switch at the pedal is working correctly(check with meter) then I'd check the brake relay. There are five relays back by the air filter housing try swapping one of the other ones for the brake switch relay and see if you can duplicate the problem.

I got home and jumped in the bobat. Everything worked fine. I have'nt had time to check anything else yet. Oh it got up to mid 40s today, so everything has been warming up.
