L35 - what size fitting on bucket hose?

I broke a tilt bucket hose on my New Holland L35. I thought it was 1/2" (app 20" long) but after buying one from farm store that fitting was too big. I then tried a 3/8 and that was too small? that was the only sizes they had in various lengths. Is that hose Metric? it does have a '8' on side of nut you turn. What about 7/16? Thanks for any help!

It is not metric. It is a JIC fitting which uses bolt threads. The end that screws into the cylinde has an oring and the hose connects to a JIC tapered end. The 8 is the size. It is probably an o8 oring end x 08 JIC end.

You can get the hose and fitting at any hydraulic shop. Check around as prices are different from shop to shop. Dealer may be cheaper in your area.

NAPA can make you a hose. Just take the old hose with you and they will match it up.
If your not in a hurry, Surpluscenter.com sells hoses pretty cheap. MAde in the USA as well.
