John Deere 240 skidsteer vs 260

Hi guys new to skidsteers. Looking at a 240 and a 260 both 1700 hours roughly not sure which one I should get. I know that the earlier models had some issues. They are both series II machines. The 240 is a 2004 I was told the 260 was built and 2000 sold in 2004 I have the serial numbers for both of them. My use would be fore moving snow some brush work ground work around the house and to a ton of pellets here and there. What are your opinions. Thanks, Jeff

We had a 250 series 2. Ours had a3 cylinder engine and it shook pretty bad. It would wear out hyd hoses under the cab from vibration. Not sure what the 240 or 260 has for engines. Have heard the 240 is a better machine then the 250. I ould make sure the hours are correct dash failures are preety common on these machines and the hour meters are not set when replaced.
