Hi, I am new here and was excited to find this forum. I have a 2001 jd 240. I have a problem developing and I am not sure where to start my trouble shooting. Essentially while running the machine it feels as though the left side control needs more pressure to get a response than the right. In addition while turning the machine gets jumpy. I have check the hydro fluid and it looks good. Hydro filter was changed not long ago. Any ideas of where to start would be appreciated. Jeff

Check the linkages? if there is more play in one side it will take more of a push to get it moving.

Jeff, I just started having the same issue! I found somewhere on this site a link to the Technical Manual. According to TM1747, it is probable that your Centering Plate needs adjustment. The manual will walk you through the whole repair! Hope this helps! Mark
