I bought a used Kohler 18hp (ch18s) to replace my oh160 (16hp) Tecumseh in my case 1816. I know others have done this BUT: How do I get the special triple groove (mechanical clutch inside) pulley to fit? The Tecumseh shaft the pulley came off is 1 3/16" but the shaft on the Kohler is 1 1/8" -that is 1/16" total difference so if I made a sleeve it would have to be only 1/32" thick? I can't seem to find a adapter sleeve to fit these sizes and that thin even work?

The adapters are available. Google it, and you will find some. I havent checked, but if Kohler makes a CHXX engine with a 1 3/16 crankshaft, the cranks are interchangable and are not a lot of work to change. Thats what I did on my swap. Found a cheap used engine, then found a crank to make it work....
