my 763 has had no park brake for several years , the brake solenoid has been burnt and the center pin has been removed there is also no wiring for it i dont know where to start !!!!! I went to my dealer to buy a new solenoid and he tells me you cant 12 volt switch them . damm why not !!! does any one know of a simple fix or any suggestions . I did hope to put a cab switch in and the foot switch on a 12 volt switch sick of not having a brake please help thanks ross

The new solenoid will have a pigtail with a connector on it. The wiring it plugs in to is behind the cover the steering levers go thru.

yeah ive had the brake sol out its all been very hot / burnt and gutted of its drop pin /i guess the wires were melted and removed cut back , idont know where to ./ i have looked in the harnesses and cant find any spare wires,/ thats why i hoped to put a independent system in place ///i am waiting on a manual might be able to sort wire colours out maybe ,//all the wiring is very blackened ,/ i just want a brake and simple is best and 12 volt i under stand

The wire colors to the solenoid would have been white, black and red. On some some machines the red wire is pink/red and those machines instead of a white that wire is red. The red wire(red/pink) goes to the BICS box and the other two connect to the engine wiring harness with some 2 other wires(pink/white and orange).
The reason you just can't hook it up to 12 volts is that it has 2 coils. A pull coil and a hold coil. If you apply 12v constant to the pull coil it will burn out.

Depending on how much wiring has been removed, you can wire it up to 12v, but there is some work for you to do. It will also remove some of the safety features, so be warned.
You can wire the hold coil to a switched 12v supply, but the pull coil will need to be wired to a push button switch on the dash. Start the machine, press the pull button, the brake will snap up and be held with the hold coil.
I'd recommend you try and get the wiring sorted out, its not THAT hard, you may need to trace it back to the BICS box. I re-wired a 751 that got burnt, it took a little time with the wiring diagram, but i got there.
