The VW Porsche I was referring to turned out to have steel wool stuffed in the muffler to make it quiet enough to drive. It was an oil burner and had slowly clogged up the muffler with oil carbon. Over heated cruising the interstate but cooled down when Idling. Air cooled engines HATE back pressure I'm told. It wasn't my car, thank goodness.

I’m at a loss. I purchased a 753 bobcat a few months ago. Now I have an overheating issue. It’s full of coolant. I’ve pulled the thermostat to see if might have been the issue. It’s not the issue. Water pump is working. What am I missing?

Not sure if this helps, but some vehicles needs to be burped of air ( like Dodge Rams ) if air is in the system it will no circulate. So there is usually a bleeder screw somewhere on or around the upper hose thermostat cap?
