How can i tell if my 751 has auxillary hydraulics?

I believe the machine was equipped for them at some point i am just not familiar with which components to locate. I have the lines on the loader arm (which slightly leak at the junction at the rear in the engine compartment), i have two electric solenoids on the BICs valve, i have the botton that says AUX hydraulics on the control pannel, but i have no switch on the drive stick. Is it possible one of the sticks was replaced and no switch was put on it? Or did all machines come with this? What would i need to do to make them work? I tried activating the aux hydralics button but it doesnt light up or do anything. On everything i have operated there is a trigger on the right to allow continuos flow, and a side to side thumb toggle to allow intermitant reverible flow. Is that the same for the 751?

There should be a thumb switch on the right stick..... I guess its possible someone installed a new handle without the switch, but seems odd to me.
They have aux hydraulics as standard, so it should be all setup for you.

yeah there is no thumb switch, i noticed the aux hydraulics still have the origional caps on them and dont look like they have ever been used, they are rusted and dont look like they would work. They also look much smaller than the ones i am used to using. i guess i will just have dealer check it out if it ever makes it there. without switch shouldnt i still be able to activate the aux hydraulics with the dash button? I dont hear any solenoids activate or the light light up

Well i went through my electrical diagrams, narrowed down the harness i have, found all of the connectors, and ordered left and right control switches for the bobcat as well as pin connectors. I should know how much it's going to cost by tomorrow. The one main control switch was only $93 so i expect it to be under $300 for both with all connectors and freight.

That's not too bad. I would have expected more for the handle. As they haven't been used... possibly ever, your stems may be stuck. If that's so, you can dismantle them and clean them out. Deal with that if its needed though.

Now what are the stems you are refering to? The two solenoids on the BICS? I did notice today that when i turn the key on and press aux hydraulics button i can hear a light click, just a relay, from the left side of the machine, pretty much where the aux hydraulics control box is. Not lights light up next to the button but it definitely clicks so wiring is run to there atleast. Can i just buy an entire BICS valve and solve the problem of bad solenoids if it comes down to it? What are they like $700?

The stems screw into the control block. THey have coils bolted to them. The click should be the stems. They should be under $100 each, worst case.

Oh ok thats not too bad. I got the final prices for the controls, main stick control was $153 other one was $93 and about $65 for the connectors. hopefully it will all work.

I finally got around to isntalling the new joysticks and connectors. i still dont have my drive motors back from being rebuilt yet so i cant start it but i did turn the key. one click when i acitivate the button on the dash and each of the solenoids click when i switch the toggle button left or right. At first when i would switch it left it would make a faint click and the other would make a solid solenoid sound, like it should. i cycled the switch a few hundred times and it eventually sounded the same as the other one so i think it was just stuck being it may have never been used by the looks of the remote fittings.

I did wwant to know about the other switches. I believe the one on the left is a directional switch and the trigger is a constant flow switch. you switch the direction of flow you want, then you hit the trigger for it to stay on, correct? Its been a while since ive used the auxillary hydraulics other than on a harley rake but i believe that was how it was set up. Should i hear any solenoids when i activate these buttons without the machine running?

The noises you are hearing with the key on is a good thing. Hopefully they will work properly now.
I'm not sure what all the other buttons/switches do, but on the right stick the thumb switch controls direction as expected, the trigger will make it flow all the time till its pressed again. I did find that using the thumb switch and then pressing the trigger can reverse flow.

thanks Tazza! I am hoping it all works too. I did notice there is no electrical connector next to my auxilary lines. Is that common? I do remember having that on the later machines ive used but dont remember ever needing it on a backhoe, auger, or breaker attachment but the angled harley rake i use did have that. Will this limit the attachments that i can use?

You mean the connecton just about the aux couplers? this was an option, you need to buy a harness for that if you want it.
If you are just using things like auger, hoe splitter etc, you won't need it. Its only needed when you want to control more than one hydraulic function at a time like the rake you mentioned, even a snow blower if you need to adjust the angle.

Oh i see. I guess i will get my manual out and see what i can trace out to see if it will be a huge problem to add it. I do like the harley rakes although i am not sure how well the 13gpm pump on this machine will work with them.

It should simply be a plug and play situation.
Are you sure it only has 13gpm? it should be pretty close to 15 from memory, which should be very close if not the same and the newer non hi-flow machines. Hopefully it will be more than enough for the attachments you want to add.

The historical bobcat specs say 13gpm at 2550psi but they could be wrong, service manual says 13gpm too. I dont own any attachments and i just use it around my house/farm but i have a bobcat dealer which rents a hundred or so attachments only 7 miles away so i plan on renting any attachments that will make a task easier. I have flipped through a few dozen electrical diagrams and i dont see where an electrical connector for the front goes. on my machine. I see bucket positioning valve and control switch, rear aux hydraulics, and i do se power relays for an angle broom and stump grinder but they are one wire connectors going to the relay, but i dont see any auxilary connectors. how many wire/pin connectors are they usually? i cant seem to find it on my diagrams. It's an earlier 751 with the Peugeot engine, everyone seems to hate the engine but it has alot of power in my opinion. every bit as much as the 753s i used to use.

Nothing wrong with that engine, its just an alien in the fleet. When they are working, they are great. Run very smooth.
I thought there should be a connector in the engine bay somewhere, but i can't promise that.
I can't remember how many pins it should be, there is a newer and older style. One was 7 and one was 9 i think. I don't have my 751 anymore, so i can't look to see if it had a connector the the aux or not.

Thanks I will check next time i have the cab up. I have alot os 2-4 pin connectors just laying arround but i assumed they are for a heater or wiper setup but now that i know its a 7-9 pin connector that should narrow it down alot. I saw something in the diagram that may possibly have been in it but it was called something else so i will do some searching when i get home from work. Thanks again for everything. Rebuilt drive motors shipped out yesterday so i should be able to test everything this weekend.

there was a kit but it looks like it is no longer available. individually the parts add up to around $1040.00. ouch.
