I am having a heck of a time trying to start my Bobcat 743. Its trying to start but the hydraulic pump is loud, squealing and the machine is pulling to the left. The brake is on but that makes it worse. This really takes the battery down trying to start especially after lighting up the glow plugs and with the cold weather. This sounds like a travel adjustment, am I right? Or is there something else that maybe wrong. Hopefully, that's all it is.

The best way to start a machine that is creeping is no brake, crank and pull or push the required steering lever to keep it stationary. You don't want it fighting the brake.
If it's taking a long glow, your plugs may be a bit worn, or low on compression. The V1702 engines can be a bit hard to start in the cold, when warm, they are fine, but you need to get it there.

Thats what I finally figured out. Take the brake off and hold the steering lever in a position so it is not creeping and the pump is not straining. I will have to tackle the creep adjustment come springtime, too darn cold right now. Thanks for you verification

If your machine doesn’t have it I would add a block heater. You can also use synthetic oil for easier starting. If you haven’t yet the newer gear reduction starters fit on the older machines and will give faster cranking with more oomph

Do you have a brand and model number of the starter that would fit the Kubota engine?

I was told it would be the same starter that the f and g series 753/763 machines take. I never swapped it as I found out about it after trading the 743 in on the 753
