Hi, I bought a m371 6 month ago and used it to re-do my patio. Now the work is done and I fell love with this little machine and am in the process rebuilding the engine. Once this is done I'd like to rebuild the rest of it, like new bushings in thlift arm, etc. The gas tank is completely shot (lots of holes) and the last owner installed a plastic fuel tank right behind the driver's head (I really do not like it) and gravity feed. I checked with the dealer and they told me the little tin tank will cost me $400. Is there other way? Thanks. Erwin

No plastic,made for that one, unless you luck outand find something “close enough”

Finally decided to cough out $300 for a new tank from the dealer. That will make it look a lot better, really tired of having 6t gal gasiline behind my neck. Also odered new engine mounts, new muffler. she got a better Christmas present than anyone else in the family. Erwin
I have to pay another 100 dollars today for my 371. The last owner did not install any bushings for the joints between the tilt cylinders and the bucket plate. There is only a sleeve over the bolt and the gap between the sleeve and the inside of the joint hole is quite large. The new bushing is about 50 bucks a piece, just a little shinny piece of metal! I guess there is not a big enough market for the after-market part manufactures, so we have to pay dearly when you want to get it done right. Erwin
If you have a lathe, or someone with a lathe, they are easily made. Just use tougher steel like 4140. Its easily machined, but tougher than standard mild. It can be hardened too.
