I thought the fuel shut off solenoid was a single coil unit. I found i was wrong. Can i power the pull side of the coil on the start circuit? The only problem i could see is if there was a starting problem and had to crank it a lot. This is a retro fit of a diesel into a gas machine.
 
That is exactly how i wired my 743 for a key shut down.
Pull coil to the starter motor, hold to the switched power. Never had an issue.
