Hello I have a Ford 340 Skid Steer with a 4cvly gas Wisconsin engine. It keeps bogging on me. It starts like a charm is as tuff as nails but latly I can have her full throttle and she wants to shut down and then comes back up and down again, etc. New gas, fresh oil & spark plugs. I am thinking perhaps changing the distrubutor cap & wires? Any other suggestions? Best place to buy them from? I just found this site and want to say hello and thanks for the info in advance!

If its hunting, you may want to check the carby out too, even the govenor. When it gets put under load it will want more fuel to keep the speed up, but if the govenor isn't doing its job, it will bog down. Not sure how its setup on that engine though.

there is a mechanical spark advance under the point plate in the distributer that gets rusted up and sticky. it makes a big difference in power if it doesn't work right.
