I have a 720 that had the old ball style quick coupler. I changed those out with the new flat face quick coupler so I could use attachments with the flat face. The problem I'm having is making the connection. It won't seem to release the pressure to allow the two fittings to connect together. Am I missing something here, or is something wrong. This is the only skid steer I've owned so I don't have anything to compare it to but, it just shouldn't be this hard. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure how the older machines release pressure. The newer ones have a pressure release button. If the 720 auxiliary hydraulics are controlled by moving the steering arm like my old 530 was I'd turn the machine off then rotate the arm to release the pressure and then unhook attachment.

flat face couplers you just push in hard and it releases the pressure. on my 643 sometimes I shut the machine off with the AUX hydraulics engaged so there is no pressure in the system. then like on my backhoe attachment I just touch one of the controls and that releases pressure in the attachment, so both connectors go easy.

Brent,
I have the same issue with my 863. Sometimes there is trapped pressure and it is almost impossible to plug in the couplers. If I force it then I have an oily mess. At first I thought it was the attachment being unplugged when cold then heating up during the day causing expansion pressure. So I cracked a fitting to release pressure but it made no difference which told me it was coming from the machine side. The machine is supposed to release pressure to the aux hydraulics by turning the key past 'off' (to the left). My selonoid must be not working because that does nothing. One day I was in a hurry and left the machine idling with the aux hydraulics off and everything plugged right in. I do this everytime now with no issues. I don't know if it would be the same with a 700 series but it works for my 863. You probably should make sure the parking brake is in good condition before attempting.
