Hi guys..need help on a 2011 continued overheating issue..
My engine keeps on overheating even on idle with no load onto the engine.
Ive already diagnosed all the obvious issues like cooler inside cleaned and outside, headgasket replaced, thermostat working, what i did notice is when i remove the two oil cooler hoses from the engine that leads to the cooler and when i crank it over i have oil pressure from the engine on both of the hoses.. shouldn't one be a supply and a return like the casted arrows shows on the engine block

one would think so,if you think about it if it does not circulate like you think it should, how would it cool anything without a flow. I know next to nothing on deutz but is the cooler cooled by a blower fan off the engine or a electric fan with a sensor that automaticly turns the fan on and off according to temps.

If both hoses are showing oil pressure, it suggests there could be a restriction or flow issue inside the oil cooler itself, or possibly a misrouting of the hoses. Also, you may need to check the oil type and pressure to ensure proper flow.

I'm assuming you've checked that the fan that pushes air across the oil coolers is working. If so I agree that there might be a blockage.

Not sure but there probably is some kind of thermostat in the system that controls eng temp. That is not working. Check a parts listing to see if it shows one.

if you have good air flow through the oil cooler, there is a thermostat in the system as a diesel needs to run at about 180 to 190 degrees F for proper luberacation of the cylinders wallls, no matter if it is water or oil cooled, with out a thermostat it would run too cold during cool weather let alone cold weather.

Have you solved this question?

Have you been able to figure out the overheating issue yet? If not, here are a couple of things to consider:
You're right—typically, one hose should be a supply, and the other a return. If you're getting oil pressure from both hoses, it might suggest a blockage or an issue with the oil cooler itself. Have you checked for restrictions in the cooler or the lines? Sometimes a partially clogged cooler can cause flow problems, even if it looks clean on the outside. Also, have you verified that the water pump is functioning properly and that there's no air trapped in the cooling system? Air pockets can sometimes mimic more serious issues.
umm water pump? on an oil cooled duetz engine
